Our Team
Peta Clackett - Principal
Trained in Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Acrobatics, I completed my Junior Teachers Diploma at the age of 16 and have since achieved my Associate, Member and Licentiate Teachers qualifications with the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD). I have also completed training and examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Borovansky syllabus in classical ballet.
My formal qualifications include a Certificate IV in Dance Training and Management, a Diploma of Dance Training and Management, and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessing, ensuring both industry currency and best-practice teaching standards.
Dance has always been my passion, and teaching felt like a natural progression. In 2007, I founded Dance Avenue, turning a lifelong dream into reality. Since then, the studio has grown beyond anything I could have imagined, now welcoming over 250 students each week and offering classes across multiple genres. Dance Avenue is an inclusive, supportive community where everyone is welcome and encouraged to belong — a place students truly call home.
In 2026, Dance Avenue proudly celebrates its 20th year, and I remain deeply committed to leading a school where dancers of all ages and abilities can learn, grow and be inspired by the joy, connection and confidence that dance brings.
