
Peta Clackett - Principal
Trained in Classical, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap and Acrobatics.
I completed my Junior Teachers Diploma at the age of 16 and have gone on to complete my Associate and Member qualifications with the Australian Teachers of Dancing (ATOD). I have also trained and completed examinations in Royal Academy Of Dancing (RAD) and the Borovansky syllabi in classical dance. I have also completed my Certificate IV in Dance Training and Management, Diploma in Dance Training and Management and Certificate IV in Training and Assessing.
Dance has always been a passion of mine and teaching dance became a natural progression. In 2007 it was only fitting for me to open Dance Avenue. Since then Dance Avenue has grown bigger and better then my wildest dreams, we now host classes to over 200 students per week and offer classes for everyone in multiple genres, we are inclusive to all and Dance Avenue is a place everyone can call home - this was my dream!
In 2025 Dance Avenue will celebrate it's ninetenth year and I endeavour to continue to lead a school where everyone can learn to dance and continue to be inspired by the joy of dance and all it brings.

Chelsea Sewell - Senior Teacher
Chelsea has loved being on stage and has been performing from a very young age.
At the age of 15 she was accepted into Principal Academy of Dance and has completed her Cert. 4 diploma and Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts majoring in dance. Chelsea then went on to complete her professional semester at Broadway Dance Centre in New York City.
The past couple of years she has been in and out of the country working in the dance industry. Some highlights of her career are performing as a backup dancer for the singer Jason Derulo in New York City as well as completing a contract in Dubai as a dancer at Dubai Parks and Resorts. Her latest accomplishment has been performing for Royal Caribbean International on board the world’s largest cruise ship Harmony of the Sea’s.

Kaela Hochegger
Kaela has had a long and rewarding career, spanning over three decades in the dance and performing arts industry. In this time Kaela has trained at some of the most prestigious schools both nationally and internationally Including; Steps on Broadway (NYC), Broadway Dance centre (NYC), Millenium Dance Complex (LA), The Edge (LA), Debbie Reynolds dance studios (LA) Pineapple studios (London), Brent st (Sydney) and The McDonald college (Sydney).
Since hanging up her professional dancing shoes, Kaela has gone on to receive a Bachelor of Dance and Physical Education and a Bachelor of Arts and Psychology. Her focus has been on educating the next generation of dancers and for over the last decade has been working full time as a teacher and choreographer, both nationally and internationally.
In the last few years, Kaela has been working on the development of her own coaching company, called ‘ConfiDANCE’ after realising the need for dancers to holistically train their minds as well as their bodies. We are so excited to have Kaela continue at Dance Avenue in 2025.

Mikayla Wyartt
Mikayla started dancing at the age of 9, where her passion for dance continued to grow over time and
in 2021 Mikayla completed her certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management also.
Her love of dance includes genres of tap, jazz and hip hop, her heart belongs to Hip Hop and working inn early childhood.
Mikayla is currently in her final year at university studying her Bachelor of Education and also currently works in a school as a primary school teacher. She is constantly looking for opportunities to develop and strengthen her knowledge. Mikayla has a passion for making the dance environment feel fun, save and inclusive and aims to share her love for dance with the younger generations and create life long inspiration and joy!

Jorja Bennison
Jorja has been dancing since the age of 4 with Dance Avenue.
Jorja has trained in all genres and been examined under the ATOD syllabus with high marks.
Over the years Jorja has won many awards and accolades in competitions and most recently Senior Dancer of the Festival. Jorja holds a Cert. IV in Dance Training and Management and is constantly looking to further her skills and knowledge in dance.
Jorja enjoys all genres but has a strong passion for jazz, contemporary and lyrical.
Her goal is to dance professionally in the future and to share her love of dance with the students she teaches.

Mikayla Wilson
Mikayla "Miki" Wilson is a passionate freelance dance teacher with a love for all genres of dance, her journey began at a young age, where she quickly developed a deep passion for movement and expression. Miki started choreographing at just 12 years old, and by 14, she was assisting dance classes and began teaching at 16 and has continued to share her expertise and love for dance with students of all ages ever since. Miki holds a Cert. II and III in ballet and a Diploma in Contemporary Dance, which she received while training at Brent Street in 2021.
With her diverse training and experience, Miki is dedicated to helping each student grow both technically and artistically, fostering a love for dance in every class.

Imogen Larnach
Imogen is a passionate and dedicated dancer who has been in the world of dance since the age of 4. Over the years, she has built a reputation for her commitment, and creativity.
Imogen has accumulated awards such as the Aggregate and Champion Dancer titles at various competitions, marking her as a standout performer in the competition community.
As she continues to advance in her career, Imogen is also focusing on her education and professional development.
In 2025, she plans to complete her Certificate IV in Dance Management and Training, to prepare for a successful future in the dance industry. With a long-term goal of performing on cruise ships, Imogen is eager to combine her love for dance with the opportunity to travel and showcase her talents on a global stage. Imogen’s aim as a teacher is to create a fun, creative and hard working environment where students can share their love for dance!
